A level, AS level and GCSE retake programmes are available for all subjects and options with all the exam boards – AQA, Edexcel/Pearson, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas and CIE.
Courses start in September or January, but pupils can join at any time throughout the year, as their needs and personal circumstances dictate.
Courses are fully personalized, and can be studied full time or part time, to meet each pupil’s individual requirements, and are based on the highly effective Oxbridge style of one-to-one tutorial. In recent years, A Levels were modified from a modular system, into a linear one - this requires students to take all assessments at the end of the course.
This has made resits more challenging - If you fail or want to improve your grades, you’ll now need to resit the whole A Level exam (e.g. if a student underperformed in only one of the three English Literature papers, they must resit all three). The only exception is that retake candidates can keep their coursework marks if they want to.
For students who find that their interests and ambitions have changed since they started the sixth form, it is possible to combine retakes with picking up one or two new subjects from scratch.
Where can you resit your A Levels and GCSE's? For detailed advice on retake options, please contact our knowledgeable and experienced staff, who will be happy to guide you through the available options.
When can you sit your A Levels and GCSE's? Regardless of how you study the course, you’ll sit the exam on the same date as everyone else. November resits are no longer available, so the exam will be scheduled for a date in May/June, so long as schools are back to normal at that time. Exam board timetables will be released later in the academic year. Enquire Today If you would more information about our exam retake programme, please email enquiries@carfax-education.com
