University open days offer a wonderful opportunity to explore facilities and lecture rooms, chat with potential future lecturers and meet current students. It will give you the chance to ask lots of questions, and vanish any doubts about the subject and social life at University. In this article, our Oxbridge consultant shares important information about the upcoming 2023 open days at the University of Oxford, and University of Cambridge.
Oxford Open Days 2022 This year, Oxford’s University-wide Open Days are on Wednesday 29 June, Thursday 30 June and Friday 16 September – unfortunately not ideal for overseas applicants! If you are able to attend, these Open Days offer an opportunity to explore the city and the university, find out more about the courses and departments, visit colleges and interact with tutors and students. There is so much to do and see, that it’s worth making a plan in advance of arrival, and narrowing down the Colleges you’re interested in. Although you can attend without doing so, it’s also a good idea to register for an Oxford Open Day. The University recommends that you visit subject departments first, and come armed with any questions you might have. It is possible to visit Colleges at other times, but Departments are not usually open to visitors so make the most of the opportunity! It’s worth pointing out that some sessions can get very busy, so if possible book in advance. If you’re not able to attend an Open Day, you can arrange to visit at another time. College grounds are usually open to prospective applicants. There also ongoing events throughout the year, listed in the University’s outreach calendar , which you might be able to attend during your visit. Cambridge Hybrid Open Days 2022 This year, Cambridge is offering Hybrid Open Days, which will take place on Thursday, 7 July and Friday, 8 July 2022. There will also be smaller Open Days on 15 and 16 September 2022, with details available nearer the time. Registration is obligatory, whether you plan to attend in person or virtually. Book now. The programme is extensive: View the Hybrid Open Days Programme – kicking off with Warm-up Webinars from 27th June to 5th July. Virtual Open Day content will be live between 4th and 17th July: Virtual Tour, with ‘Live’ days on 7th and 8th July, and Follow-up Virtual Events from 11th -15th July.
